Well, on the Moorings 4200 you actually can! Based on the original Leopard 42 and built by Robertson & Caine, the Moorings 4200 is the only one of its kind designed with a lounge area on the coachroof, the perfect place to sip on a cocktail while watching the sun set on the horizon!
The Moorings 4200 presented here is the 4-cabin double-berth version, designed to host a crew of 8 in supremely comfortable conditions. You can even invite two extra guests onboard as the saloon table can convert into a double bed if required. That’s comforting to know should you ever need to add a couple of kids to the crewlist at the last minute!
While moving around inside, your Moorings 4200 will provide all the comfort you could expect thanks to its roomy, fully-equipped galley, its convertible saloon and its 4 double cabins.

At lunchtime, you can dine in the aft cockpit whatever the weather safely protected from the elements by a hardtop bimini. Evening meals can be taken cosily in the saloon, from where you can gaze up at the stars through the skylight.
All the cabins have an en-suite bathroom and electric head, as well as a separate shower and washbasin, equipped with mixer taps.
When you move outside, the Moorings 4200 is designed to provides three distinct living areas, each with its own particular style. Whether in the aft cockpit, the fore sunbathing area or the coachroof lounge, it’s up to you to decide where to sit!
What’s our favourite place for having an aperitif with friends or family, you may be wondering? The upstairs lounge! Having an area a few metres above the water level really is unique for a catamaran of this size! Even better, the designers thoughtfully fitted in a set of loudspeakers so that you can enjoy your favourite music up there, too. What a nice touch!
So, the boat is designed to provide maximum comfort, but what about its performances under sail? You will be glad to know that we successfully test sailed it in extreme conditions, with gusts of over 40 knots, off the coast of South Africa, where the boat was built. Like all Leopard catamarans, the 4200 is sturdy, sea-worthy and performs well not only under sail but also under motor, thanks to its two powerful 45hpYANMAR engines. These, and the camera fitted at the fore, ensure the Moorings 4200 is also a pleasure to manoeuvre in ports.
